About Uptown Midwives:

Uptown Midwives and Family Wellness is a collective of like-minded individuals focused on improving perinatal care in an interdisciplinary, holistic model. All of our midwives are registered with the College of Midwives of Ontario and maintain current certifications in CPR, NRP and Emergency Skills.

Our fabulous admin team keeps the clinic running smoothly, juggling calls, faxes and e-mails while booking appointments and referrals for all of our midwives, all with a welcoming smile.

Shawna Healey, RM: Shawna is passionate about reproductive health and providing relationship-based care to diverse families. Prior to completing a B.HSc. in Midwifery, Shawna worked for 10 years in health policy and communications, first at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and then with the Ontario provincial government. Shawna loves translating health data and research into practical information to support clients’ decision-making.

Shawna holds a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Community Development from the University of Toronto, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Queen’s University.
