FALL 2011- SPEAKERS September 13 1ST MEETING FOR 2011/2012 Come join us at the first meeting of the 2011-2012 school year! Register, learn about the group and have some fun socializing with other moms. September 20 Mary Monaghan, Parentology Mary is a Torontonian who lived in Dubai and trained with The Coaches Training Institute in the Parentology workshop. The Parentology workshop is about creating lifelong strong, healthy relationships between parent and child. She will discuss this philosophy as well as guide us through a mini workshop. September 27 Mary Dempster, Re/Max Realtron Realty Inc. Our very own MOM will be discussing everything real estate. Are you considering buying, selling or renovating your home? Come hear about the current market trends and house valuations in your neighbourhood. October 4 Sheryl, Mimi & Sheryl's Boutique Mimi and Sheryl came together with a vision to have a store where the 30+ woman can shop and feel great about herself. They cater to women who want to have their closets cleaned out, refreshed, and have fashion stylists fill in the missing key pieces. Join the ladies for a discussion on fashion tips and trends and what pieces you need to have in your wardrobe. October 11 Minnow Hamilton, SavvyMom Conceived over a Starbucks non-fat latte in December 2004, SavvyMom is the influential online publication and the trusted voice for moms across Canada. SavvyMom speaks to the broad range of topics that moms need to address, finding practical solutions to the everyday dilemmas. Minnow will engage the aucition on what SavvyMom is all about, sharing expertise to help impact our lives as moms. October 18 Andrew von Teichman, Von Terra Andrew is a sommelier and founder of Von Terra Enterprises, a licensed agent representing local and imported producers of premium wines, beers and spirits. He has partnered with the LCBO to bring numerous wineries, such as Kangarilla Road, into their outlets across Ontario. As well, last year Andrew and Allan Jackson (of Jackson-Triggs) released their first Ontario VQA wine brand called 'Union'. Andrew will talk to us about how to pair wine and food together to make a fabulous meal. October 25 Cathy Douglas, Asana Skin Spa Cathy founded Asana in 2005 and has applied her medical esthetics expertise in an intimate and customer focused setting based on her core focus of results, client comfort and an extremely satisfied clientele. Cathy will discuss how the skin ages and what treatments are available to combat the process. She'll also do a mini-consultation for a brave volunteer. November 1 Social & Book Swap Along with having a coffee, treats and chatting with other Moms we will be holding our 2nd Book Swap. Wondering what to do with that book that you've read and you want to read something new?! Bring one or two books to this Tuesday's MOMS and see what book you get in the Swap. November 8 Joanna Slezak Joanna is a certified yoga instructor in Ashtanga, Restorative and Yin and founder of My Yoga Mat. Joanna will discuss the benefits of incorporating yoga into our day as well as give us a short yoga demonstration and overview of her personal training services. November 15 Catherine, Mastermind Toys The toy experts at Mastermind will be back again this year to tell us about the must have kid toys for every age. Since 1984, Mastermind has been selling the highest quality educational toys that inspire, eductate and most of all - are fun! There is always a big turn out for this speaker and there is usually a coveted coupon just in time for the holiday shopping season! November 22 -- MEMBERS ONLY MEETING (sorry, no guests allowed) Beverley Cathcart-Ross, The Parenting Network Beverley Cathcart-Ross, founder of the Parenting Network, will help us to handle our children’s temper tantrums without giving in, resorting to bribery, or finding ourselves unravelling into an adult meltdown! Come prepared to share a temper tantrum your child dished out recently and get some strategies from Beverley to nip the next one in the bud. November 29 Eleanor LeFave, Mabel's Fables Bookstore Mable's Fables is the little bookstore for big readers, bringing kids and books together since 1988. Please join us as Eleanor LeFave, owner of Mabel's Fables discusses the latest books for babies to age 6. Eleanor loves to discover books and connect them to readers so please bring your questions as she will address your individual needs.
